English Language Studies Program

This English Language Studies Program (ELSP) is for F-1 international students who do not meet the English proficiency requirement to be admitted to an academic program. With over 30 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), SRJC provides challenging and interesting classes designed to prepare you for success in college level courses. Whether you are a beginner or only need to brush up on your English skills, SRJC offers instruction, taught by highly qualified ESL faculty, which will match your current level. Click here for more information about ESL courses. TOEFL/IELTS scores are not required for admission. To ensure that you will be placed in ESL classes that will support your success, a placement test is given to determine your current skill level. Once you complete the advanced level of our ESL program, you can enroll in one of our many academic programs without taking the TOEFL or IELTS. Our dedicated staff will assist you before you arrive on our beautiful campus and will be here to ensure your needs are met as you complete your ESL program, earn your two-year associates degree, prepare to transfer to a four-year college/university, or return to your home country better prepared for the work force. Our ESL program services also include a new student orientation, academic planning, immigration and visa guidance, access to all SRJC facilities, and a wide variety of social activities.
